IIIT Kurnool was established in 2014 as a part of AP Reorganisation Act. IITDM Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh is funded by MHRD, Govt. of India. The institute is recognised as an Institution of National Importance by the Parliament Act.
IIITDM Kurnool launched several courses with the help of IIITDM Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu. IIITDM Kurnool offers UG, PG, and PhD courses to students across Engineering etc. across four departments. IIITDM Kurnool grants admission to the flagship BTech programmes through JoSAA/CSAB based on valid scores in JEE-Main. Admission to MTech programmes have the the minimum eligibility of a valid GATE score. The highest package and average package offered during IIITDM Kurnool placements 2023 was INR 28 LPA and INR 10.79 LPA, respectively.
